Brandi Shabaga is a contemporary mixed media artist from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Growing up on the Prairies and spending summers exploring the Interlake Region of Manitoba, she developed a connection with nature at a young age.

 

While her art practice is continually evolving, her connection with nature, and interest in its cultural significance and interface with society, is a constant in her work – bridging her art with her academic background in earth science and anthropology. 

She is best known for her work melding together acrylic painting, paper collage, and printmaking techniques; combining influences from bold pop and graphic arts with a loose, expressionistic painting style.
